Reading “The Body Keeps The Score” by Bessel Van Der Kolk, M.D.

I’m so impressed with this book, and I truly feel that this is the future mindset of medicine. It bridges how trauma effects the mind, body and spirit. It explains what trauma is and what it does to your body physically, and it gives solutions! So far I’m on page 45, and I can’t wait to update you guys again. The reason I feel so passionate about this is because this is how I believe true, deep healing takes place. I’ve already learned so much about myself. I feel I have a deeper understanding of my own traumas and past just 45 pages in. He talks about how for real change to take place, the body needs to learn that the danger has passed and to live in the reality of the present, which is why things like yoga, breathing exercises and meditation can be so so so helpful.
